Imagine living just a block away from the beach and within walking distance of the shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues of Downtown Venice. Since the 1950s, Cornwell on the Gulf has stood as one of Venice’s most emblematic beach neighborhoods, and it is one of the gated communities where residents enjoy private access to sugary white sands.
Cornwell is a collection of just 19 properties on Venice Island. There is only one street that starts at the gate and ends at a cul-de-sac with two spectacular mansions right on the beach. Pricing at Cornwell starts just under a million dollars. In 2019, one of the two beachfront estates sold for nearly $4 million. Compared to other luxury communities in Southwest Florida, Cornwell listings are known to sell very quickly because of the incredible location. By virtue of being located south of the main stretch of beach in Venice, not many tourists venture down here, thus making the Cornwell beach section feel exclusive and private.
With the Venice Shopping Center on South Tamiami Trail just five minutes away, you can actually walk or ride a bike whenever you need to shop for groceries. Some of the nearby attractions include Venezia Park, the Monty Andrews Arboretum, and the downtown district of Venice. If you walk north on the beach at Cornwell, you could be at landmark seafood restaurants such as Sharky’s and the Crow’s Nest within minutes; plus, if you like fishing, this is where you can cast lines from the pier.
